WATERTOWN, S.D.–The issue of carbon dioxide pipelines in South Dakota is one that’s being taken up by elected officials at the state level rather than Congress. But that doesn’t mean House and Senate members in Washington aren’t hearing about it.

Congressman Dusty Johnson says he hears about the topic on his trips back to South Dakota…

Aside from safety concerns, there’s the very personal issue of landowner rights….

Two CO2 pipelines have been proposed to run through South Dakota, including one by Summit Carbon Solutions (pictured).

The Public Utilities Commission has the authority to issue, or reject, permits for those pipelines.
