Business News: Banner Engineering closing Aberdeen operations by end of 2024
March 4, 2024
ABERDEEN, S.D.–Banner Engineering in Aberdeen, which employs more than 300 people, will close by the end of the year.
The notice was given to employees on Thursday. In order to “remain competitive in the marketplace,” Banner will consolidate North American operations by expanding operations in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
The Aberdeen plant layoffs will be implemented on a rolling basis over the next 10 months. The first round is expected to begin in late April or early May.
The 311 Aberdeen employees were encouraged to apply for one of the 100 open positions in the Brooklyn Park facility.
Banner also closed down its operations in Huron last year.
