Brookings police arrest man for choking cats to death

BROOKINGS, S.D.–Brookings police arrested a man who admitted to killing several cats with his bare hands.
Officers found and interviewed 33-year-old Cory Martison about the incident. Martison admitted to taking the lives of three cats by choking them. He was arrested for three counts of Cruelty to Animals, and was booked into the Brookings County Jail, where he was being held on a $1,000 cash bond.
A separate case in Brookings recently led to charges against a 20 year-old woman who left a dog in a vehicle with the windows rolled up. The dog died from the heat, and she’s also charged with animal cruelty.
