BREAKING: Total positive cases of COVID-19 in Codington County surpasses 1,000 mark

WATERTOWN, S.D.—Codington County reached a dubious milestone today in the coronavirus pandemic.

The county went over the 1,000 mark in positive cases since the virus entered the state.

The South Dakota Health Department says positive cases in Codington County are now at 1,001. The majority of those people have recovered.
The active case count in Codington County is 205.

There have been seven deaths in Codington County linked to COVID-19.

On a statewide level, there were 181 new cases reported today. The active case count across South Dakota is at 4,274. But the number of South Dakotans who’ve recovered has gone over 20,000. The number of recoveries is now listed at 20,076. 

There are 241 people hospitalized with the virus in South Dakota.

The statewide death toll is at 248, which is unchanged from Sunday.
