WATERTOWN, S.D. (KWAT)–lt looks like a powerful winter storm system that’s impacted South Dakota since Tuesday will finally start to push out of the state today.
That should happen by early afternoon as the snow stops and winds begin to taper off.
Forecaster Amy Parkin says the National Weather Service will begin putting together a report on official snow amounts today….
Enough snow to close highways. Sections of I-29 and 90 are still closed this morning. I-29 is barricaded from the North Dakota line to Sioux Falls, and I-90 from Sioux Falls to the Vivian exit.
Many state highways and secondary roads are blocked as well, where plows will have to cut through large drifts to get things opened back up.
A Blizzard Warning remains in effect for northeast South Dakota until noon today.
