Waverly man arrested on child abuse, drug charges

WAVERLY, S.D.–A Waverly man was arrested this week on child abuse charges.
Fifty five year-old Leroy Newman (pictured) was arrested following an investigation by Codington County sheriff’s deputies.
Newman is charged with Abuse or Cruelty of a minor.
He’s also facing drug charges after authorities executed a search warrant and discovered an illegal drug manufacturing operation in his home.
Two other occupants of the residence, 33 year-old Chasidy Olson of Sioux Falls and 62 year-old Alton Newman Junior of Waverly also face drug charges.
