WATERTOWN, S.D.–There’s good news and bad news when it comes to the Watertown Salvation Army’s red kettle Christmas campaign.

Captain Dennis Jolly tells KWAT News that as of early this week, they had collected $97,000 in donations, which is ahead of the pace of the last two years.

But with 12 days of bell ringing left, there’s still a lot of work to do to reach their $167,000 goal.

Jolly is hoping to make a big dent in that deficit on December 18th, by having every red kettle in Watertown staffed with a volunteer bell ringer throughout that day….

You can volunteer to be a bell ringer by going online to https://www.registertoring.com/, and you can donate to the kettle online by clicking here https://donate.salarmywestern.org/give/302765/#!/donation/checkout.
