WATERTOWN, S.D.–The city of Watertown is taking an aggressive approach to buying construction materials for a new two-sheet ice arena that’s being built.

It’s due to two factors–rising prices, and a supply chain bottleneck that has been acquiring construction materials much more challenging than normal.

Arena consultant Dick Strasburg of the TEGRA Group cited one example at Monday night’s city council meeting….

On Monday night, the council voted to hire RJM Construction of Golden Valley, Minnesota as the construction manager for the ice arena project.
