WATERTOWN, S.D.–Its been a nice bounce back year for passenger traffic at Watertown Regional Airport.

Last year, just over 7,200 passengers flew out of Watertown as air travel was crippled by the COVID pandemic.

Through the first ten months of this year, just under 14,000 passengers had flown out of Watertown, and Airport Board member Mike Tomlinson says there’s room for even more growth…

Tomlinson told the Airport Board at their Monday meeting that the airport will have about $87,000 a year to spend on marketing for each of the next three years…

Passenger boardings in October were just under 2,000.

Traffic peaked in July, with more than 2,600 boardings.
