Watertown man sentenced to five years in prison on Incest charge

WATERTOWN, S.D.–A Watertown man has been sentenced to five years in the South Dakota Penitentiary on an Incest charge.
Thirty seven year-old Jay Bublitz was initially charged with First Degree Rape and Aggravated Incest, but in a peal deal with prosecutors, pleaded guilty to the Incest charge last month.
The charges stemmed from sexual contact Bublitz had with a child in March 2017.
During Wednesday’s sentencing, Bublitz apologized to the victim.
Judge Carmen Means gave him credit for 205 days already spent in custody.
