WATERTOWN, S.D.–A Watertown man was arrested last night following a high speed chase and subsequent search.

Codington County Sheriff Brad Howell says it began when deputies were notified that a White Chevy Tahoe had been stolen from a residence in the northern part of the county.

The occupant of that stolen vehicle was 27 year-old Clark Danley, who was wanted on a parole violation after he walked away from a drug treatment facility in Sioux Falls.

Deputies pursued Danley at speeds of up to 80 miles an hour, but lost sight of the vehicle.

Then just before 10:30 last night, the Day County Sheriff’s Office was called about suspicious activity in their county, not far from Danley’s last known location.

Deputies found Danley hiding inside a barn.

The stolen vehicle was later located near 446th Avenue and 150th Street.

Danley was arrested for Aggravated Eluding, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Ingesting a Controlled Substance, Third Degree Burglary, Reckless Driving, Driving Without a License, and several other moving violations.
