Watertown High School Principal to Retire

The Watertown School District has received a letter of retirement from Brad Brandsrud, High School
Principal. Mr. Brandsrud has been the Watertown High School Principal for the past two years after
serving as an Assistant Principal at WHS for 25 years. Mr. Brandsrud is an Estelline, SD native and a
graduate of Augustana College and the University of South Dakota.
Mr. Brandsrud and his wife, Sharon, have two grown children (David and Megan) both graduates of
Watertown High School.
Superintendent Danielsen has this to say about Brad Brandsrud, “I am very grateful for Mr. Brandsrud’s
work the past two years as the high school principal. We needed his experience to assist us not only with
the COVID situation but the entire remodel of WHS. He did a nice job communicating both of those
issues with our staff, as we navigated the whole experience. We thank him for the many years of service
to the Watertown School District.”
The Watertown School Board is expected to accept Mr. Brandsrud’s retirement at the February 14th
board meeting and will begin an immediate search for his replacement.
