Watertown Fire Rescue responds to several car accidents Tuesday

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown Fire Rescue crews responded to several car accidents on December 28th, 2021. Crews responded to 3 separate calls over a 3 hour period.

At 1:15 PM crews were called to the intersection of 6th Ave and 9th St SE for a 2 vehicle accident with airbag deployment. On scene crews found a 2 vehicle T-bone accident. There were no fluids leaking and no injuries reported.

At 3:45 PM crews were called to the intersection of Highway 20 and 3rd Ave NW for a 2 vehicle accident. On scene crews found a 2 vehicle accident with airbag deployment. Both vehicles suffered front end damage and had to be towed. Crews cleaned up transmission oil and radiator fluid, along with debris. There were no injuries reported.

At 4:10 PM crews were called to East Highway 212 and the Northbound on ramp for a 2 vehicle accident. On scene crews found a 2 vehicle rear end collision with heavy damage to both vehicles. Medic 2 and Medic 5 crews assessed patients in both vehicles. One passenger, from the vehicle that was rear ended, was transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Two passengers, from the vehicle that had front end damage, were assessed and refused further care from Paramedics. Engine 4 crews cleaned up fluid from one vehicle and also cleaned up large debris piles. Both vehicles were towed away.
