Watertown Fire Rescue responds to grass fire on West Highway 212

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown Fire Rescue was dispatched to a grass fire in the north ditch of west Highway 212 near 42nd Street Southwest on Monday.
When they arrived on scene, fire crews saw several small fires burning in the ditch, approximately 200 feet in length.
Two fire trucks poured water on the fires and had them out within minutes. Crews then remained on scene to mop up any hot spots that remained.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
