Watertown City Council approves re-zoning for major housing development (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D. – Land in the Prairie Haven Addition in Watertown, west of the airport, has been re-zoned by the city council.
It’s going from the current A-1 Agricultural District to an R-1C Compact Single Family Residential District.
It’s a major and necessary step forward toward what will become a very large housing development in that area.
One of the partners on the project, former Watertown Mayor Steve Thorson, spoke to the council about it at Monday night’s meeting….
Thorson says when the entire 153 acre Prairie Haven Development is finished, it will include 500 single-family homes priced in the $250,000 to $275,000 rang.
