WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Watertown Airport Board on Monday approved a bid to reconstruct the T-Hangar that was destroyed in a violent wind storm in May 2022.

Gray Construction of Watertown submitted the low qualifying bid at just under $438,000.

The project consists of rebuilding a 50 foot by 189 foot hangar on existing footings.

The project will be fully funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the city’s insurance provider.

Final approval still needs to be made by the city council.
