Two dead, five injured in head-on crash in South Dakota’s Tripp County

COLOME, S.D. – Two people died and five others were injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash a mile east of Colome in Tripp County.

 

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says two pickups collided head on on U.S. Highway 18. One of them was pulling a cattle trailer.

 

Killed were two passengers in one of the pickups…a 40 year-old woman and a 14 year-old boy.

 

The five injured in the crash were all transported to Sioux Falls hospitals.

 

The section of U.S. Highway 18 where the crash occurred was closed to traffic for about seven hours.

 

Names of those involved in the crash have not been released.
