WATFORD CITY, N.D. A two year old boy was killed when he was hit by a truck in Watford City, North Dakota.

The accident happened Monday night around 8:00 pm.

The Highway Patrol says the boy walked in front of a truck driven by 50 year old Otis Roberts of Watford City. The child was knocked over, and was dragged for about 15 feet.

Meanwhile, a 34 year old Fargo woman was seriously hurt in a crash involving a McKenzie County Sheriff’s deputy who was headed to the site of that vehicle-pedestrian crash in Watford City.

The Patrol says Sheriff’s Deputy Zackary Moran was driving through an intersection, with lights and sirens activated, when a car driven by the woman went into the intersection. Moran’s squad hit her vehicle on the passenger side. She was airlifted to Trinity Medical Center in Minot with “life threatening injuries.”

Both crashes are under investigation.
