PIERRE, S.D.–South Dakota high school students fared better than their peers when it came to scores on the ACT college entrance exam.
The South Dakota Department of Education says South Dakota students earned an average composite score of 21.1.
Nearly 60 percent of all 2023 high school graduates in the state took the test.
The ACT composite score reflects sub-scores in English, math, reading, and science.
