ABERDEEN, S.D.–The National Weather Service (NWS) has released its third and final spring flood outlook for northeast South Dakota and western Minnesota with no change from the first two reports.

Forecasters say there is a below normal chance of spring flooding over the next 90 days, although that could change with significant snowfall, a heavy rain event or ice jams.

A basic lack of snow cover, shallow frost depth, and normal soil moisture and river levels currently point toward a below normal flood risk this spring.
