PIERRE, S.D.–South Dakota is set to receive money as part of a $10 million settlement with major wireless companies.

According to the office of Attorney General Marty Jackley, the settlement was part of a national lawsuit that alleged AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon engaged in deceptive and misleading advertising practices.

In a statement, Jackley said, “South Dakotans were misled, and this settlement includes financial and corrective action aimed at protecting our consumers.”

South Dakota will receive about $71,000 to be used by the Consumer Protection Division for consumer protection efforts.
