PIERRE, S.D.–A bill that would have required birth certificates reflect a person’s gender on birth was defeated in the South Dakota House Health and Human Services Committee.
The bill’s prime sponsor, Fred Deutsch of Florence, says it would correct state law…
Representative Jennifer Keintz of Eden says the bill is regressive…..
The bill was defeated on a 7-to-6 vote.
