Sisseton woman arrested following high speed chase in Codington County

WATERTOWN, S.D.–A Sisseton woman was arrested late last week following a high speed chase on Interstate 29 north of Watertown.

Thirty three year-old Kelsey Wanna was wanted in connection with a theft that occurred in Watertown.

Watertown police were called to the Target parking lot Friday morning to arrest her–but she fled northbound on the interstate.

Six minutes into the pursuit, a Codington County sheriff’s deputy located the vehicle and the chase continued with speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.

Wanna’s car eventually came to a stop at mile marker 195, where she was taken into custody.

She faces a long list of charges that include Aggravated Eluding, Reckless Driving, Possession of a Controlled Substance and DUI.
