WATERTOWN, S.D.–A regional air carrier than began serving Watertown and Pierre on July 1st will be adding two more markets to its flight schedule.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded Denver Air Connection the federally-subsidized Essential Air Service contract to serve Ironwood, Michigan, with six weekly non-stop flights from there to Minneapolis-St. Paul, and six more to Chicago O’Hare.

That service will begin on October 1st.

Denver Air Connection will also add Phoenix to its list of destinations beginning December 15th, with flights between there and Telluride, Colorado.

An even 800 people flew out of Watertown on Denver Air Connection in July.
