WATERTOWN, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says a project to reconstruct Interstate 29 from just north of Sisseton to the North Dakota border will begin in the northbound lanes today (Monday).

Traffic will be placed in a two-way configuration in the southbound lanes with a reduced speed limit to 65 mph and a 13-foot width restriction.

Work on the project includes overlaying the existing pavement and improving bridge decks and guardrails.

The prime contractor on this $17 million project is Reede Construction of Aberdeen and is scheduled to be complete by November.
