WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Watertown Rebels picked up where they left off a year ago with a prolific offense and a stingy defense in a 26-8 season-opening win over the Tri-State Buffalos last Saturday.

The 2021 Rebels defense had five shutouts last season only allowing opponents an average of 11 points per contest.

Coach Tommy Whitley says the Rebels almost had their first shutout of the season last week:

Quarterback Trevor Taylor found the endzone three times to three different receivers.  Coach Whitley says Taylor is an experienced QB:

Watertown will have their home opener this Saturday against the Dakota Bulldogs who had a bye last week.  It’s football weather this weekend with rain expected but Coach Whitley says that won’t affect the game plan too much:

4 p.m. kick from Great Plains Lutheran High School field.
