WATERTOWN, S.D.–A quick bout of bad weather in the Watertown area this (Friday) morning left cars in the ditch and people reporting blizzard-like conditions.

An Alberta Clipper system brought bands of heavy snow through the area. Watertown picked up about three inches of new snow in just a few hours, creating snow covered and slippery highways.

Looking ahead to this weekend, a lot of that snow will be blowing around. By Sunday, National Weather Service forecaster James Telken says the winds will really pick up….

Telken says the winds will die down late Sunday night into early Monday morning.
