It’s game week for South Dakota State football as they prepare their opener on Saturday.

This is the second year in a row SDSU has opened with an FBS opponent, coming away with a 42-23 W at Colorado State in 2021. This year the Jacks will head to Iowa. South Dakota State Coach John Stiegelmeier says the Hawkeyes defense proposes some challenges:

Mark Gronowski takes back the helm of quarterback at SDSU after redshirting 2021, recovering from an injury suffered in the 2020 FCS national championship game. Gronowski will be facing a loud Ames crowd which Coach Stiegelmeier says they have been preparing for:
