WATERTOWN, S.D.–Spring is pothole season in South Dakota, and one drive around Watertown shows how a rough winter treated city streets.
You’ll find potholes in every corner of the city that need repair.
When it comes to paying for those fixes, Councilman Colin Paulsen says the city should not have to shoulder the entire financial burden.
Paulsen said at Monday night’s city council meeting that Watertown Municipal Utilities should be a partner in funding the necessary repairs….
Paulsen says the city gets a bad rap for bad streets, and it’s unfair….
A more permanent fix for the pothole-filled streets will begin in mid May. That’s when hot mix asphalt will be available for city crews that are out making repairs.
