One person taken to hospital following Watertown house fire

WATERTOWN, S.D.—One person was taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital for evaluation following a house fire in Watertown Tuesday afternoon.

Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to 507 9th Street Northeast just before 3:00 p.m.

They arrived to find smoke coming from the home. Once inside, they found the origin of the fire was in the basement.

Fire damage was limited to the basement, but the rest of the house sustained smoke and water damage.

Firefighters rescued three pets that were in the home.
