“On the Rise” chosen as the theme for South Dakota Governor’s Conference on Tourism (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–The theme for next month’s South Dakota Governor’s Conference on Tourism has been announced.

Tourism Department spokeswoman Katelyn Svendsen says the theme, “On the Rise” acknowledges the increased global interest in South Dakota as a vacation destination…

In her budget speech Tuesday, Governor Noem recommended an additional $35 million dollars for tourism marketing efforts. Svendsen says it would be money well spent….

The governor is also recommending funding for a nearly $10 million expansion of Custer State Park that would create 175 new campsites.

The governor is bullish on South Dakota tourism…

The Governor’s Conference on Tourism is January 18th thru the 20th in Pierre.
