WATERTOWN, S.D.–Gasoline prices have taken another big jump in Watertown.
A number of stations raised the price of a gallon of regular unleaded to $3.49 a gallon Monday; a jump of 15 cents a gallon.
According to the website http://www.southdakotagasprices.com/ the statewide average price in South Dakota is $3.32 a gallon. A week ago, it was $3.31 a gallon. A month ago, the average was $3.11 a gallon.
A year ago, the average statewide price was $2.42 a gallon.
Another website, https://gasprices.aaa.com/ reports the national average is $3.49 a gallon, with the South Dakota statewide average at $3.36 a gallon.
Energy experts say $4.00 a gallon gas is possible by Memorial Day as crude oil prices climb toward $100 a barrel.
