January 10, 2024

URBANDALE, Iowa – Today the American Carbon Alliance (ACA) announced that Ringneck Energy has joined as members of the ACA.

“When we look at rural America, we know there is no greater economic opportunity on the horizon than what we do in the carbon capture effort,” said Tom Buis, ACA CEO. “For years, we’ve relied on plants like Ringneck Energy to feed and fuel the world. With the innovation that carbon capture brings, Ringneck and others will lead us to a new energy future.”

Ringneck Energy is located in Onida, South Dakota, and has been in operation since 2018. They have partnered with Summit Carbon Solutions and their plant is along the proposed pipeline route.

Ringneck joins other ethanol plants and several state Corn Grower Associations, Growth Energy, Renewable Fuels Association, the American Coalition for Ethanol, the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, the Iowa Corn Growers Association, the Renew Kansas Biofuels Association, and the North and South Dakota Ethanol Producers Associations as members of the American Carbon Alliance.

“We look forward to partnering with the American Carbon Alliance. We know carbon capture technology is going to open new global markets for our plant and the farmers who supply it,” said Walter Wendland, President, CEO & Chairman of Ringneck Energy. “Carbon capture keeps our plant competitive and on the cutting edge. The farmers need it, our communities need it.”
