NEW: Fire damages Watertown’s Elks Lodge

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown’s Elks Lodge in the 600-block of West Kemp Avenue was damaged by fire Tuesday afternoon.
Watertown Fire Rescue units were dispatched there around 2:30, and found smoke coming from the back of the building when they got there.
Once inside, fire crews found an active fire in the kitchen area.
The fire was knocked down quickly, and the building was ventilated.
Fire damage was contained to the kitchen area. Some of the contents that were burning were removed from the kitchen and extinguished outside the building.
All occupants of the building got out safely.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
