WATERTOWN, S.D.–Less than two months after terminating a contract with their airport marketing consultant, the Watertown City Council has hired a replacement consultant.
On a unanimous vote Monday night, the council approved a two year contract with Airport Strategy and Marketing, or ASM, to grow passenger traffic at Watertown Regional Airport.
Airport Manager Rob Cyrus says when you gauge whether ASM is getting the job done, you need to simply look at the numbers….
CYRUS (:13) Q: enplanement numbers.
The city terminated its contract with Volaire Aviation in February.
The new contract with ASM will pay them just over $57,000 a year.
The news comes on the heels of last week’s announcement that Denver Air Connection will continue to be Watertown’s commercial airline for at least another two years, with daily flights to Denver and Chicago.
