Names of people killed in head on crash on Interstate 90 released

Plankinton, S.D. – The names of two people killed Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash east of Plankinton have been released.
Seventeen year-old Owen Gjerdahl of Mitchell and 29 year-old Jeffrey McGhee Junior of Mount Vernon died when the car they were in was going eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90, and collided head-on with a semi.
Gjerdahl was driving.
The semi was driven by a Sioux Falls man who was not injured.
It happened three miles east of Plankinton.
