WATERTOWN, S.D.–A big decision the Watertown City Council will make in the weeks and months ahead is where to build a new City Hall.

Right now, the answer to that question is as clear as mud.

Three options seem to be in play. One is on city-owned land on Highway 20 across from Cattleman’s Casino.

A second option is the city-owned Wells Fargo Bank building downtown (pictured), which has been vacant for more than a year.

A third option is at a, “to be determined” site downtown.

Last week, the city council held a work session and heard over an hour’s worth of public testimony from people who said the new location should be somewhere downtown.
