FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.–The second largest state fair in the country opened today in suburban St. Paul.
The Minnesota State Fair…also known as the Great MInnesota Get Together….attracts about two million visitors each year–second only to the Texas State Fair.
The fair unofficially kicked off Wednesday night when 19 year-old Emma Kuball, a 19-year-old college student from Waterville, representing Rice County, was crowned the 70th Princess Kay of the Milky Way.
She’ll now serve as the goodwill ambassador for Minnesota’s more than 1,800 dairy farm families.
The South Dakota State Fair begins next week in Huron.
