Midwest gas prices predicted to take big jump
September 8, 2023
UNDATED (KFGO) – Gas prices are likely going to rise in the next few days. Gas Buddy.com says drivers in Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas should be prepared.
Analysts believe gas prices in those states will go up from 50 cents to $1 per gallon. Trade sources tell Gas Buddy a refinery outage may be to blame.
Wholesale gasoline prices in the region are up nearly $1 per gallon from a week ago. Retailers that buy new supplies will likely have to raise their prices substantially to avoid losing money.
A few stations in Watertown increased their price by 20 cents a gallon on Thursday. Some stations in the Twin Cities raised their price by 40 cents a gallon overnight.
