WATERTOWN, S.D.–Its been a week since voters elected Ried Holien to be the next mayor of Watertown.
Voters chose Holien over incumbent Mayor Sarah Caron in convincing fashion, with Holien receiving just under 70-percent of the vote.
Over the past seven days, Holien says he’s been holding countless meetings with city employees, department heads, and the new city manager, Amanda Mack….
Holien says that doesn’t mean he and the new city manager will agree on every project, or every issue that comes along….
One question still up in the air is where Holien’s office will be. Caron has given up her office to Mack. Holien says that was the right thing to do, but it leaves questions of where exactly his work space at City Hall will be.
He says city employees have been wondering about that….
Holien, the current Council Vice Chair and a former State Senator, will take the oath of office as mayor during the city council meeting on Tuesday, July 6th.
