GRANITE FALLS, Minn.—A 27-year-old man is dead after being trapped inside a grain bin in western Minnesota Tuesday morning.
The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office says when authorities arrived at the bin northeast of Porter, Minnesota around 9:30, a 62-year-old man had already freed himself from the bins but the other man was still trapped inside.
Crews worked to free the 27-year-old and were able to eventually get his body out, but he didn’t survive.
The 62-year-old man was taken to the Sanford Canby Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, was treated and released.
One rescue worker was also transported to the Canby hospital with heat-related injuries.
