SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–A Sioux Falls man was arrested after being accused of stabbing an employee at the Banquet, a downtown Sioux Falls kitchen that feeds meals to the homeless.

The suspect was told to leave the feeding ministry’s evening meal because of his behavior. He left, but quickly returned and was confronted by the employee.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says the employee didn’t realize it at the time, but when the suspect swung at the victim, he ended up stabbing him. The victim had two different stab wounds to his back. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled on foot, but was found nearby. He led police on a brief foot pursuit before being taken into custody.
