WATERTOWN, S.D.–City and county officials will be meeting again today in Watertown to get briefed from the National Weather Service on the latest spring flood outlook.

According to a report released Saturday, Lake Kampeska was expected to crest today at 54 inches above full.

City officials over the weekend were going door to door between 1282 South Lake Drive and 770 North Lake Drive to ensure homeowners were not discharging their sump pumps into the sanitary sewer system.

Over 3,000 sandbags had been distributed by Friday afternoon, and an estimated 1,600 remained available for public use.

Sandbags are available at the county extension building, sheriff’s office, Jackson Park, the Lynwood Boat Launch and Sailboat Landing.
