Klobuchar introduces legislation aimed at Ticketmaster

WASHINGTON, D.C.–Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar is leading a bipartisan group of lawmakers to propose the Fans First Act — legislation aimed at eliminating hidden fees in live event ticket systems and ending what Klobuchar calls Ticketmaster’s “monopoly.”
The legislation is the next chapter in a growing battle between Washington and ticketing services.
In November, the Justice Department launched an investigation into LiveNation for what they call “anti-competitive practices.”
President Joe Biden blasted the ticketing services during his State of the Union address and, in October, proposed an outright ban on hidden fees across all industries.
