PIERRE, S.D.–He’s calling it a major victory for South Dakota and two dozen other states.

Attorney General Marty Jackley is celebrating a temporary injunction that halts the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rules from taking effect.

It would require federal approval for private landowners to utilize waterways on their own property…

Jackley says the top-down approach of the rule is heavy handed, and unnecessary…

The injunction means the judge hearing the case believes there’s a good chance the states will prevail in the dispute.
