WATERTOWN, S.D.– It was a very quiet summer when it came to severe weather across eastern and central South Dakota…
Kelly Serr is the Severe Weather Warning Coordinator at the National Weather Service in Aberdeen.
She says its hard to identify a single reason why it was so quiet this summer….
Final tornado numbers won’t be available for a few months, but Serr says they were nearly non-existent this summer…
The peak time of the year for severe weather is over, but that doesn’t mean it still can’t happen….
Serr says the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration…or NOAA….will release its winter weather predictions on October 19th.
