Former Jackrabbit hired as Brookings softball coach


BROOKINGS, S.D. (News Release) — The Brookings School District has announced the hiring of Emma Hardin as its first Head Softball Coach.

A 2018 Brookings graduate, Hardin has spent the past four years at South Dakota State where she majored in Early Childhood Education and was a pitcher for the Jackrabbit softball team.

In addition, she has coached for the Brookings Outlaws club softball program the past five summers. As a high school athlete, Hardin played club softball with the South Dakota Renegades, where she was a four-time state champion and helped her team to a runner-up finish at the 2016 PFG Nationals and a ninth-place finish in 2017.
