Fire damages garage, vehicle southwest of Brookings

WATERTOWN, S.D. – Several fire departments were called out Monday to a garage fire at a residence southwest of Brookings.
Fire departments from Brookings, Arlington, Aurora, Bruce, Elkton, Sinai, Volga and White were dispatched just after 4:00 p.m.
The resident was not at home when the fire started, but returned to find smoking coming from the garage.
Units arrived to find the garage and a pickup on fire.
The loss is estimated at $15,000.
