February passenger numbers strong at Watertown Regional Airport (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.—February was another strong month for passenger boardings at Watertown Regional Airport, but the weeks and months ahead could be impacted by the coronavirus.

Airport Manager Todd Syhre announced at Monday’s Airport Board meeting that 1,295 passengers boarded flights in Watertown last month….

What he’s not happy about is the coronavirus, and the major effect it could have on the airline industry….

Some of those precautions are coming down as directives from the Centers for Disease Control….

Syhre told the Airport Board it’s possible that airlines could reduce their schedules due to the virus.
