Fall enrollment numbers up at SDSU, Northern State  (Audio)

BROOKINGS, S.D.–Enrollment this fall at South Dakota State University (SDSU) is up one-and-a-half percent from last fall.

SDSU reports 11,505 students on campus, including 2,275 freshmen.

Total credit hours are an important number for the university and they’re up this fall by more than 2,000…

The number of international students is up 81 from last fall.

At Northern State University (NSU), their headcount was 3,521 students, 5.3 percent higher than last fall.

“We are proud of our dedicated faculty and staff who deliver quality personalized academic programs and support services,” said Marcus Garstecki, NSU’s chief enrollment management officer.

Northern also saw notable growth in transfer student enrollment and graduate programs.

The Northern graduate student population now stands at 589, and total credit hours stand at 1,999. These figures represent the highest recorded numbers since the 1998 fall semester.
